Past, Present and Future

TESEM was founded in 1988 with the goal of being an exceptional structural steel design and detailing company in Turkey. At that time the founders had more than 10 years of experience on large scale construction projects, allowing them to observe the need for a design firm that is also knowledgeable in fabrication and erection. With this observation, TESEM was founded with the philosophy of gathering designers from multiple disciplines together, who also have a firm grasp of fabrication and erection methods.

After 20 years in practice, with a reputation of being the “go to address” for design and detailing of complicated steel structures in Turkey and worldwide, TESEM is far beyond its initial founding goals. TESEM has participated in over 800 structural steel projects in 35 countries. TESEM offers services to its clients for every project, whether small or large, as long as they require our assistance. Our project range varies from stadium and arena roofs to long span bridges, from multi-story parking structures to airport terminal buildings and from cement factories to convention center buildings. Learning from every project and letting our strong dedication for excellence guide our way, TESEM has grown steadily

Currently, TESEM provides basic structural design, structural steel detailing and consultancy services to its clients. The extensive knowledge and experience of TESEM staff in fabrication and erection methods enables us to provide efficient designs, which reflect as time and cost reductions to our customers. We believe consistency in our clientele is a good measure of our success and we are honored by the high ratio of our return customers.

Management

Faruk INSEL - Managing Principal

Mr. INSEL received his B.S. degree from the Engineering Faculty of Middle East Technical University in 1979 followed by his M.S. degree in 1981. He has been working in the structural steel industry since 1980. Mr. INSEL has been involved in more than 500 construction projects as a designer or Fabricator or Erector.

Rauf AKBABA - Managing Principal

Mr. AKBABA received his B.S. degree from the Engineering Faculty of Istanbul Technical University in 1979 followed by his M.S. degree in METU in 1981. He has been working in the Structural Steel Industry since 1983. Mr. AKBABA has been the lead designer of many prestigious structures including stadia, airports and long-span bridges.

Erdinç BELLISAN - Principal

Mr. BELLISAN received his B.S. degree from METU Civil Engineering department in 1998. He has been working as a structural steel designer ever since. Being one of the best in the Turkey and surrounding countries in his field, Mr. BELLISAN is an expert in 3-D modelling of extremely complicated structures.

Alptekin KIBAR - Principal

Mr. KIBAR received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from METU Civil Engineering department in 2002 and 2004. He has worked in the consruction industry as a construction manager and structural steel designer. Mr. KIBAR has designed several special steel structures with great efficiency in his career.

Emre INSEL - Principal

Mr. INSEL received his B.S. degree from METU Civil Engineering department in 2005 and his M.S. degree from University of Wyoming in 2007. Mr. INSEL practiced structural engineering in Miami for two years. He has structural design experience with concrete, steel and structural wood.
